About Joe
I have been hunting
and fishing all of my life. I've been fortunate to do this in a number of
different states. When it comes to deer hunting, the one state that stands out
is Wisconsin.
This state's reputation for deer
hunting is legendary. Deer hunting is a big deal in this state and the hunting heritage
here is unmatched. You have generations that have hunted the same property for
years. Going to deer camp is an annual event cherished by most. Local residents
recognize the importance of deer hunting in this state and treat deer hunters
very well.
Here are some of the reasons Wisconsin
is such a popular deer hunting destination:
• Wisconsin's deer herd averages about 1,343,000
deer.
• "Wisconsin has 23 counties among the top
50 in North American typicals entered since
2004." --- Game and Fishing
Magazine
• "Wisconsin is home to eight of the top 10
whitetail counties in the US." --- North American Whitetail .com
Quality Deer Management is practiced
widely thought out the state. Additionally, many landowners leasing property to
hunters are willing to allow food plots (with landowner approval).
There is no shortage of seed dealers
offering food plot seed and advice. Leasing the right property and implementing
a good deer management plan can bring years of hunting success. And in a state
like Wisconsin the chances of getting a "Booner"
can be quite good.
All methods of taking deer are legal
in Wisconsin. Hunting with centerfire rifle cartridges is now legal in addition
to slugged shotguns during the rifle portion of the season.
Wisconsin offers other game in
addition to deer. The state hosts one of the highest densities of black bears
in the U.S. Bear season is popular, and tags are issued by a lottery system.
All the other game species are here in
very good numbers. The turkey flock is good and Wisconsin offers numerous
options on when you can hunt and where.
For the first time, Wisconsin will
offer an Elk hunt for 2018. They reintroduced elk years ago and now this
successful endeavor will allow the state to offer a limited number of elk tags.
This is currently only open to Wisconsin residents.
I am excited to be representing
Hunting Lease network in Wisconsin. I am a member of QDMA, Boone and Crockett
and Ducks Unlimited. I look forward to helping hunters maximize their opportunities
to take game legally no matter what the species.
Please let us know what you are
looking for and we will do our best to accommodate you.
