The county reports good turkey hatches the last couple of years which bodes well for the turkey hunting.
Bordered on 3 sides by the Shawnee National Forest. There is not a lack of timber in this area. This property has 102 acres of old pasture and nearly 300 acres of timber. All of the pastures are planted in a clover mix and many deer are seen feeding in them every day. Easy access throughout the entire property.
There are five previously planted food plots that would need to be maintained by the lessee.
Two main plots down in the bottom field and 3 in openings on ridge top trails.
The neighbor to the north did a clear-cutting in 2007 on 40 acres that has become a very thick sanctuary for the local wildlife. A neighbor 1 mile to the west harvested a buck that scored 170" and field dressed 226lbs. The landowner reports that a 15 pt buck was harvested on the farm several years ago.
