How would you like to be hunting trophy deer on some of the only crop fields in this area? These crop fields will draw the deer in like magnets from all over. Most of the fields will be row cropped in either soybeans or corn and rotated on a yearly basis, weather permitting.
This unique Johnson County, Illinois property has it all and will provide the right group many opportunities for deer, turkey, small game, predators, waterfowl and not to mention the right to fish on the well-known Lake of Egypt.
There is a really nice pine thicket on the south end of the property that could act as a sanctuary for this property. It is thick and there seem to be a lot of deer using it as their bedding area. There are several really nice hardwood ridges that contain both red and white oaks. I did find some acorns on the ground and think there should be a good chance of hunting some mast trees.
There are over 200 acres of timber on this lease and several thousand on the neighboring properties. This should result in a lot of big bucks cruising the area. I saw lots of trails, rubs and old scrapes while walking the property. I also saw several turkeys using the fields and they had the woods scratched up good in places.
The waterfowl hunting will be in the dry crop fields only. Lake of Egypt does not permit waterfowl hunting on the lake.
The fishing on Lake of Egypt is fantastic and well known. Please let me know if you are interested in fishing. I met a local angler that is doing some day trip guiding on the lake and I can put you in touch with him. That could be some great fun. There is a boat ramp if you choose to bring your own boat.
ATV's can be used for hunting related purposes only. Great access. Hwy 57 and Hwy 24.
Lodging and restaurants are only minutes away. There is an old home site that you could use for a campsite with approval from landowner. $2MM Hunting Liability Insurance Policy is included with this lease. Outfitters must provide proof of insurance.
