120 ACRES IN BOURBON CO KANSAS UNIT 11, EXCELLENT LOCATION AND PACKED WITH WHITETAIL
This Bourbon County, Kansas property is going to make a great long term hunting lease. The area of this property produced some great deer in the 2019 season as well as in the past. The landowners have not currently been leasing the property and you can tell by the amount of deer residing on it.
The lease has approximately 80 acres of timber and 36 acres of crop field to make a perfect mixture of crop and cover to hold and manage mature whitetail. On my visit, I watched a group of bachelor bucks and several doe in the fields in the early evening.
One look at an aerial photo and you will see that there is not only a great mix of crop and cover but 3 different ponds on the property. When the Kansas rut kicks in the buck movement from the northwest to the southeast will keep you on your toes.
After a year or two with the right lessee the landowner would consider granting permission for a food plot with the HLN rep. approving the location. Currently, there are a lot of small pockets of grass on the property that are supplying plenty of bedding areas that could be easily converted to clover plots. This would make a great addition to the lease.
Landowner may remove some timber in the future to make more crop ground. No set date.
Burning might take place in spring
