1st thing you think of when you look at the aerial picture of this property is "DEER HIGHWAY !!"
The wooded area has very thick cover which is loaded with bedding spots. There is a creek running through the woods. Deer are bedding down in the thick brush and with water and the fields planted to corn they do not need to go far for everything they need.
When walking the property a number of deer were kicked up.
There are some nice open areas in the woods that would be ideally suited for the bow hunter.
The edges of the wooded areas would be great for stand setup for hunting the corn fields.
Turkey are in good numbers as per landowner.
There is a parking area on Melvin Rd. east of the farm house on Melvin Rd.
NO PHEASANT HUNTING. Landowner is releasing pheasants on the property and does not want any shot.
The farm house at the corner of Melvin Rd. and Steiner Rd. is available to rent on a nightly basis. This can be done through: Vacation Rental By Owner. We are not affiliated with VRBO, nor is HLN involved in the rental of the farm house. Anything done regarding the house rental is outside of the hunting lease agreement.
Owner would appreciate a phone call before hunting as they rent the farm house out as B and B and would like to know who is on the property.
No shooting towards any buildings.
Monroe has all the amenities and plenty to places for food, lodging etc.
