Property Details
This is a great set up. Property is owned by serious hunters and this property has been taken care of with trophy deer in mind. Owners will be hunting elsewhere this season, so this great opportunity is available. All legal game.
The property consists of a canyon area filled with oaks in the southwest that transition to a relatively flat upland area with a mix of farm field, grassland, pine plantings and oak grove with old power lines crisscrossing the property that act as grazing/shooting lanes for deer. The creek that runs down the middle creates a small ravine that dumps down into the canyon on the south end of the property. The property also has the advantage of being attached to the Straight River State Park and DNR land to the north. The park is open to the public for hunting but only after the second week in November. This means there is no pressure from bow hunting or small game hunting most of the year.
Crop fields consist of corn and beans. There are 12 acres of 6-year-old pine plantings, 20 acres of red/white oak and other hardwoods. 20 acres of poplar/birch trees. All acreage is approximate.
Camping is allowed in designated areas only. There is a spot on the north end under the power lines that would be a good spot for a camper.
There are stands on the property that are NOT available for use due to liability insurance requirements.
IMPORTANT: ATV's may only be used on designated trails and designated areas. These trails and areas are for the exclusive purpose of hunting only. There are new pine plantings around the perimeter of the front corn field so care will need to be taken when driving around the perimeter.
